MoneyDot keeps your money on your phone. This page says exactly what that means, and names the one thing that does leave it.
The short version
There is no account and no server holding your data. Your budget, expenses, categories and settings are stored in a database on your device, and MoneyDot never uploads them. The app does send anonymous usage counts so we can see which screens get used — that is the only network call it makes, and it never carries an amount, a note, or anything identifying you.
What stays on your device
Your monthly budget, and every budget you have ever set.
Every expense: amount, category, date, title and note.
Your categories, including any you made yourself.
Your currency, number format, theme and reminder settings.
None of this is transmitted anywhere. If you delete the app, it is deleted with it — there is no copy for us to restore.
What the app sends
MoneyDot uses Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count product events. There are eleven of them, and they are the complete list: which screen you opened, finishing onboarding, adding, editing or deleting an expense, updating your budget, creating, editing, deleting or reordering a category, and exporting your data.
An event records that something happened, never what it was. No amounts, no titles or notes, no category names, no dates from your data. Aptabase does not use cookies or device identifiers and does not build a profile of you across apps.
What there is none of
No account or sign-in — MoneyDot never asks who you are.
No cloud sync and no backup on our side.
No advertising, ad identifiers, or ad SDKs.
No selling or sharing of data, because there is none to sell.
Reminders
The optional daily reminder is scheduled and delivered by your phone’s own local notification system. Its content and timing never leave the device.
Exporting
You can export your data as a file through your device’s share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice — AirDrop, Files, email. We never see it.
Children
MoneyDot collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
